A short biography

Dr. Mehmet Emin Kilic is currently a Brain Pool Fellow in the Computational Science Research center at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). This fellow is designed to invite overseas outstanding scientists to domestic research institutions in Korea. His research focuses on computational materials science and nanotechnology with emphasis on design, characterization, and development of multifunctional nano-structured materials for nano- and opto-electronic applications; fundamental studies on transport phenomena (electron, ion, and heat) at nanoscale; electronic, optical, thermal, mechanical, and magnetic properties of materials; materials for energy harvesting; development of theoretical spectroscopy (XAS and XPS) and microscopy (STM) and application of multi-scale simulation methods.
