A short biography
Dr. Jinhyeong Jo joined KIST as a postdoctoral researcher in 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Energy and Chemical Engineering from UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology). With a strong foundation in energy and chemical engineering, Dr. Jo's research interests lie in the field of materials science, with a particular focus on materials for ferroic materials and it's application on semiconductor. His expertise lies in investigating and designing ferroic materials for semiconductor and electronic device applications using a combination of techniques such as density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD), and machine learning potentials. Driven by a passion for advancing next-generation electronic technologies, Dr. Jo aims to contribute to the development of high-performance and energy-efficient semiconductor systems based on ferroelectric, antiferroelectric, and multifunctional oxide materials. By exploring the fundamental structural, electronic, and electromechanical properties of ferroic materials and leveraging advanced computational tools, he seeks to deepen the understanding of switching mechanisms, phase stability, and interface phenomena, and to accelerate the discovery and optimization of materials for memory, logic, and neuromorphic device applications.
