A short biography
Dr. Hyun-Jae Lee joined KIST as a postdoctoral researcher in April 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. in Energy and Chemical Engineering from UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology). With a strong foundation in energy and chemical engineering, Dr. Lee's research interests lie in the field of materials science, with a particular focus on materials for battery applications. His expertise lies in investigating and designing cathodes, anodes, and electrolytes for batteries using a combination of techniques such as density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD), and machine learning potentials. Driven by a passion for advancing energy storage technologies, Dr. Lee aims to contribute to the development of high-performance and efficient battery systems. By exploring the fundamental properties of materials and leveraging computational tools, he seeks to enhance the understanding of battery behavior and accelerate the discovery of new materials with improved energy storage capabilities.
